Nepal Police proudly leads the nation as the first governmental body to organize a hackathon - a defining moment for public sector innovation in Nepal.
Officially organized by Nepal Police - the entry of a national institution into the technology and developer ecosystem.
The inaugural hackathon ever organized by Nepal Police, and the first by any governmental body in the country.
Establishing a new model for collaboration between government, developers, and the citizens they serve.
Three themes grounded in real data from Nepal Police reports. Every problem statement is backed by numbers because understanding the scale is the first step to solving it.
Participants are encouraged to build practical, ethical, and deployable solutions suitable for Nepal's operational realities.
Before proposing solutions, participants are strongly encouraged to understand existing Nepal Police systems, workflows, and public services. Research current systems before building to avoid duplication and align with operational realities.

On-site accommodation will be arranged for all participating teams for the duration of the event.
Travel to and from Butwal is the responsibility of each participant. Please plan your route in advance.

Proposals are scored against four criteria focused on problem understanding, impact, innovation, and execution capability.
Teams should demonstrate research on existing Nepal Police tools, public services, operational systems, apps, and publicly available resources to avoid duplication.
The idea should realistically solve a policing or public safety challenge and be deployable or usable within Nepal Police operational realities.
Creativity, originality, and strength of the proposed approach.
Clear understanding of the problem, proposed solution, and confidence that the team can execute it.
A 36-hour sprint to build tools that strengthen public safety, transparency, and community trust in Lumbini Province.
